Directed by Karel Reisz
The Gambler is an undiscovered gem of the 1970s, a compelling character study and an insightful look at addiction. The late Jerry Fielding’s musical score warns us, during the opening credits, that this will not be a fun tale, or a story about triumph, but a tale of a man who will spiral out of control.
